  • Ms. Keiko Nakamura is an award-winning UX designer and digital strategist whose work has shaped user experiences across some of the world’s leading technology platforms. With a background in cognitive psychology and interaction design, Keiko combines scientific insight with creative flair to deliver digital solutions that are both innovative and inclusive.

A Tokyo native, Keiko holds a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University and has worked across Japan, the United States, and Europe. Currently the Head of Design at Lumino Labs — a global innovation firm specializing in digital transformation — she leads a diverse team of designers and researchers focused on creating products that prioritize user empathy, accessibility, and ethical AI integration.

Over her 15+ year career, she has led design and UX initiatives for Fortune 500 companies, including Google, Sony, and IBM. Her work on inclusive design systems has been recognized by Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Awards and featured in Wired Japan. Keiko is particularly known for her contributions to neurodiversity-aware interfaces and cross-cultural usability.

Beyond her corporate roles, Keiko is a vocal advocate for design equity. She co-founded the Asia Digital Inclusion Initiative (ADII), a non-profit focused on ensuring accessible technology for aging populations and people with disabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. She also mentors aspiring designers through AIGA and lectures at design conferences such as Interaction (IxDA) and UX Week.

Keiko continues to push the boundaries of what digital experiences can be, championing the principle that design should serve everyone — not just the majority.
