• Daniel Okoye is a visionary entrepreneur and digital finance strategist recognized for revolutionizing access to financial services across Sub-Saharan Africa. With more than 15 years of experience in financial technology, Daniel has played a significant role in bridging the financial divide for millions of unbanked individuals by introducing cutting-edge mobile banking solutions tailored for developing economies.

Daniel began his career as a systems analyst at a major commercial bank in Nigeria, where he quickly realized the limitations of traditional banking in reaching rural and underserved populations. Driven by a desire to create change, he co-founded PayLoop in 2012—a mobile-first fintech startup aimed at democratizing access to basic financial services like savings, payments, and credit via USSD and smartphone platforms.

Under his leadership, PayLoop grew into one of Nigeria’s most trusted digital finance platforms, serving over 7 million users in five countries and partnering with local banks, telecom providers, and government agencies. The platform has won multiple awards, including “Best Inclusive Fintech Solution” from the African Fintech Summit.

In 2020, Daniel transitioned from CEO to Executive Chairman of PayLoop and launched a new venture—KrediSpace—focused on offering AI-driven micro-loans to small businesses across West Africa. His fintech innovations are often cited for their user-centric design, seamless integration into existing mobile networks, and tangible impact on poverty reduction.

Daniel also serves as an advisor to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Financial Inclusion Strategy and sits on the board of the African Fintech Network. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Emerging Market Strategy from INSEAD.
